Georgia Quilt Council About Us |
|
The Georgia Quilt Council, Inc. is a nonprofit organization which brings quilters from all parts of Georgia and neighboring states together to promote and encourage the art of quilting.
The Council sponsors a spring and fall convention, as well as a workshops, featuring nationally and internationally known teachers. In addition, the Council supports several service projects which benefit many people in the state of Georgia.
Members receive a bimonthly newsletter, "The Sampler", which keeps them informed of quilting events throughout the state and spotlights the accomplishments of Georgia quilters. Each member also receives the annual directory, published at the end of January, listing members, guilds and shops, and teachers in and around Georgia.
The goals of the Georgia Quilt Council are to serve as an information exchange for quilters, to promote quilting education, to support public service projects and to promote friendship and sharing among Georgia quilters. Our love of quilting brings us together and the friendships we form keep us together. Membership is open to all quilters and quilt lovers who want to be a part of promoting the art of quilting.
A Committee is actively working to establish the Georgia Quilt Museum. Please join us in making this organization a vital link from quilter-to-quilter and from guild-to-guild as "Georgia Quilters Bind Together to Learn and to Share"
