Call for Donation Quilts From Guilds to the

Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum

The Georgia Quilt Council Museum committee would like every quilt guild in the state of Georgia to donate one bed sized quilt to us. CLICK HERE to register.

These quilts will be part of the initial exhibit at the new Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum which is currently under construction in Carrollton Georgia.

Following this initial exhibit these quilts will be auctioned as a fund raiser for the museum.

These quilts will also be exhibited at under the Gold dome at the Georgia State Capital in Atlanta during the legislative session of 2011.

 

GUIDELINES FOR THE SOUTHEASTERN QUILT & TEXTILE MUSEUM QUILTS

· Each quilt guild in Georgia is asked to make a double or queen size quilt.
· You may use the pattern and method of your choice.
· Place a 4 inch sleeve at the top of the quilt.
· Put you guild name, city, state and the name of quilt with the date January 2011 on a label on the back.
· All quilts become the property of the Georgia Quilt Council Museum committee to be used to raise funds for the Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum.
· You should notify the Museum committee by January 22, 2010 if your guild is participating. CLICK HERE to register your guild for participation.

· All quilts are to be delivered in January 2011. You will be notified of the delivery date and location at a later date. Please deliver your quilt in a pillowcase clearly marked with your guild’s name.
· A member of each guild that donates a quilt will be asked to attend the Quilt show at the Georgia State Capital Gold Dome.
· All quilts donated will be shown at the Georgia dome during the 2011 Legislative Session.
· All donated quilts are auctioned with a starting bid of $500 with the proceeds to benefiting the Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum.

 

The GQC Museum Committee is looking forward to working with the quilt guilds in Georgia to put together this initial exhibit of the new Southeastern Quilt & Textile Museum.
